Successful Annual Shoot

The annual poultry industry charity clay shoot and open day held by IEC at Old Springs Farm in Market Drayton, Shropshire on September 16th has been hailed a huge success and raised over £1000 for charity.

The shoot attracted 134 guns from amongst the company’s customers, prospective customers, industry representatives, neighbouring farms and sponsors and was described by a number of visitors as the ‘best ever’. After the shoot, visitors enjoyed food and drink at Old Springs Farm.

Sam Kenworthy, sales manager at IEC and organiser of the shoot, said: “It was a fantastic day with a great atmosphere throughout the whole event and we are so pleased that all our guests had such a good time. The shoot attracted several sponsors and we’re eternally grateful to the Applied Group, LA Systems, J F McKenna, Minster Vets, Morspan Construction, NFU Mutual and Powell & Co Construction for their generous support.

“Our chosen charity was the Midlands Air Ambulance and we were delighted to have raised in excess of £1000 for them at the event.”

Sam Kenworthy said that, as well as enjoying the shoot, visitors were also showing good interest in the boilers. “Biomass boilers can save poultry farmers very significant sums on their energy costs and, with the renewable heat incentive (RHI), they can also get payments for the energy they produce.”
