In 2019, we bid farewell to Sue Partington, our beloved office manager, who left us after a brave fight with cancer. Sue was more than just a colleague; she was the heart and soul of IEC, the glue that held us together. Her professionalism ensured the office ran seamlessly, even on the most challenging days, and her infectious smile could light up the gloomiest of rooms.
In honour of Sue’s incredible spirit and her desire to make a difference, Keith decided to channel our efforts through IEC to support causes close to her heart. We reached out to Sue’s family to ask where they would like us to direct our donation. Sue had received outstanding care and support from the Lingen Davies Charity in Shrewsbury during her illness, and she was a passionate advocate for their work. It was a fitting tribute to donate £2000 to Lingen Davies in her memory.
We also invited our staff to share their personal experiences with cancer, seeking suggestions for other charities to support. Louise, our current office manager, recommended the Anthony Nolan Charity, inspired by her son’s selfless stem cell donations and her son-in-law’s life-saving treatment for leukaemia. Additionally, several staff members suggested Macmillan, prompting us to donate £1000 to each of these remarkable organisations.
Through these donations, we hope to carry forward Sue’s legacy of kindness and compassion, making a positive impact on the lives of those affected by cancer.
“Sue was a major part in building the foundations of IEC, was always there for everyone to have a word in confidence and never judged – just gave honest advice if required. Sue took on the role of office manager and soon knew everything about our business and without anyone knowing put systems in place that just made us click! A great colleague and more importantly a great friend to us all, Sue was a proper example of hard work and trust and will never be forgotten at IEC – thank you”. Keith Wilson
